Please refrain of using or parking vehicles on the asphalt areas for 5 consecutive days.
Industry standards include possible deficiencies in the first year as depressions, raveling or upheaval.
Depressions can be caused by weather or from parking vehicles or equipment on the asphalt that are too heavy for the thickness selected. Most cars or small trucks only require 2” thickness, while heavier vehicles such as motorhomes or trailers should only be parked on asphalt with a thickness of 3” – 4”.
Raveling occurs when the surface particles begin to crumble. This can be caused by standing water, chemicals from washing your car, salt or vegetation growth.
Upheaval can happen when the soil beneath the asphalt expands. This usually occurs when there is extra moisture filling the soil or the water in the soil freezes and causes the ground to expand.
Seal-coating and regular inspections of your asphalt can help prevent these issues. Asphalt can also heat up and become malleable on especially hot days. On such days, being mindful of driving can protect your asphalt. Watering the driveway constantly will help cool down the asphalt. You should also refrain from turning your steering wheel when the car is not moving as it can cause divots in new asphalt. Heavy volume and high-volume traffic should be limited. Any oil or fuel spills should be cleaned immediately.
Dhillon Bros Paving Ltd is not responsible for water ponding or retention in surrounding areas of patching due to current grade. There is no warranty for resurfacing or patch work. We are not responsible for any customer driven damages such as cracks, deterioration or breaks occurred by overloading or driving on or near unsupported edges, tire marks, scratches, oil/gas spills, or other damages caused by chemicals, use of machinery or weather. Our warranty does not cover damages caused by vegetation growth, root damage, tire marks, cracks, settling, heaving, raveling, breakage or acts of nature such as weather conditions, acts of god or seismic activity.
Dhillon Bros Paving works hard to provide you with high quality concrete that will be long-lasting. We have highly trained crews that are expert in preparing, setting up, pouring and finishing concrete with the highest standards. We offer a 1-year warranty for concrete settlement cracks that exceed ¼” wide caused by poor base if the base was prepared by Dhillon Brothers Paving, unless otherwise specified in the contract.
Please refrain of using or parking vehicles on the concrete areas for 32 days until the concrete has reached its maximum strength.
You may walk on the concrete 24 hours after installation. No heavy objects such as furniture, table, vehicles, machinery or any other objects for at least 3 weeks of completion.
Moist Cure of frequently watering of the concrete areas is required at least 5 times a day for the first seven days and then 2 times after until concrete has fully cured and reached its maximum strength.
Concrete can crack easily and it’s unpreventable. We install concrete control joints to minimize cracking at the most likely locations. However, preventing all cracks in concrete surface is not possible. There can be no guarantee that the concrete surface will not crack. Industry standards consider any cracks that are 3/16” or less as normal and unpreventable.
Another unpreventable feature of concrete is discolouration. It is not possible to match the colour of existing concrete. Even different sections of newly poured concrete may not match exactly if more than one truckload of concrete was required.
Other common concerns are crazing, blistering, scaling and spalling.
Concrete control joints are installed to help reduce and preventing cracks however, some cracks are unpreventable. There are some steps you can take to further reduce cracking. You should do a moist cure – keeping the concrete moist for the first seven days by frequently hosing it down with water (at least five times a day). Curing compounds applied to your concrete can create a protective film on top of your concrete. You should also avoid parking vehicles on new concrete for the first month after placement.

We are not responsible for any customer driven damages or damages caused by chemicals, use of machinery or weather. Dhillon Bros Paving stands behind the quality of our work with a one-year warranty for labour and workmanship. This includes water puddling and uneven pavers or settlement.
The driveway or paver installed area is ready to use immediately after installation
Some of the common issues that you may see are weeds or vegetation growing between stones, shifting due to tree roots or frost heave under the stones, and the fading of the stones over time. Over time, driving or overloading at the edges can cause the stones to become uneven, the stones can crack, or they can be stained by chemicals that spill on your driveway.
There are steps you can take to prevent some of these issues. Installing sealer every three years will protect the stones. Installing weed fabric will minimize vegetation growth. Any weeds that sprout should be removed immediately. Concrete cleaner can be used if there are any stains. Regular sweeping or rinsing will also help keep the stones from staining.

We offer a one-year warranty on labour and workmanship for water pondage issues for sod, turf and putting green only, if proper drainage is installed.

The home owner or customer is solely responsible for the maintenance, well keeping and care of the landscaped areas as all jobs require seasonal and thorough seasonal maintenance.
With any landscaping job, you can expect to see vegetation growth or dying plants. Plants can die due to several reasons: soil erosion, standing water, wildlife, insufficient sunlight or water. Shady areas or city watering restrictions can be an unavoidable hazard to your plants.
Landscaping requires thorough maintenance once installed. They magic word for the longevity of any landscaping project is water. WATER WATER WATER. All plants and sod require plenty of watering. If possible, an irrigation system will do wonders. Other ways to take care of your plants are correctly applying fertilizer and weed control measures. You should also prune, edge, mulch, and seed when needed.
Dhillon Bros Paving Ltd is not responsible for weed sprouting, horse tail or dying grass caused by inadequate watering of grass or by chemicals or herbicides and pesticides. Our warranty will not cover damage caused to the retaining wall if inadequate drainage or vandalism. We will not cover any fence/wooden ties damage caused by material warping, twisting, moving, shrinking, cracking, rotting, splitting or undergoing moisture related changes. Our warranty does not cover vandalism or customer driven damages to drainage systems or lawn basin.
At Dhillon Bros Paving, we offer a one-year warranty on material, labour, and workmanship from the installation period. This includes the malfunction of controller, valves, sprinkler heads, pipes, and backflow devices
Dhillon Bros Paving will assure system is operational, functional and programmed to municipal water regulations and restrictions
Some of the most common problems are clear to see. Sprinkler heads not working or popping up, water not spraying properly, or a water source issue causing poor pressure or volume. These issues can be a poor municipal connection, damage to the irrigation line, a faulty solenoid, or a clogged or obstructed sprinkler or the sprinkler zone not functioning properly. There can also be weather and environmental factors such as algae or surface water, root damage to a pipe, or the moisture level of the soil. City watering restrictions can also affect your irrigation system.
The key to maintaining your system is regular maintenance of the system and the backflow. You should make adjustments and repairs as needed. If you inspect your system monthly, you can find and fix many of the issues that may come up before they cause damage. While inspecting, check for leaks, broken or clogged sprinkler heads or any damage that may have occurred. Along with repairs or unclogging, sprinkler heads should also be adjusted regularly to change spray patterns. Monitor the spray to check for sidewalks or structures that may be getting watered, or if growing plants are blocking the spray.
Smart technology can adjust the watering schedule by monitoring the condition of your soil. A rain shutoff switch is a simpler option that helps prevent overwatering during rainy periods.
